Our Organization

Development

Our organization started as a club in 2004. It was founded by Rwandan teachers (including the current head Ladislas) in the western district of Rubavu. The mission has always been: prevention work on genocide ideology with a focus on youth. Starting with four schools in this district, the work has expanded to over 100 schools in four different districts (Nyabihu, Rubavu, Rutsiro and Musanze).

In 2014, the "Rwanda Youth Clubs for Peace Organization" officially became a non-governmental organization and received its legal registration from Rwanda governances board in 2017

The organization is now based in Nyabihu District and is led by Ladislas. Even before Corona and now again, an international volunteer from Germany is there to support the organization for a year. There are also often local volunteers who help with school visits, soccer tournaments or other projects and become part of the team.
