Rwanda Youth Clubs for Peace Organization

"Rwanda Youth Clubs for Peace Organization" is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that has set itself the task of educating the youth of Rwanda on the subject of Peace Building and Human Rights. 

We do not want a repeat of the genocide in 1994 under any circumstances and this can only be achieved with the youth who will carry Rwanda through the future. Many of the young people are still feeling the consequences of the genocide, which is why we want to teach them about prevention and, above all, strengthen the unity of young citizens through sports projects.

Over time, we have expanded our projects and run training sessions at schools on a wide range of topics, some of which are still very much unresolved in Rwanda. We talk about human rights, drug use, equality, human trafficking and much more. 

As we are a non-governmental organization, we rely on volunteers. Both local and international volunteers are very important to us and a great help. We work together with various organizations to provide exchange and support on both sides.

However, we have not lost the sporting aspect since the start of our organization in 2014. Once a year, we organize a big football tournament in which up to 76 schools from Rwanda take part. This always has a specific theme, which is discussed with the pupils before, after and between matches.
